Q is for Quinn

This month I am participating in the A-Z Blogging Challenge where I will endeavour to post on this blog each day. It’s my first attempt at the challenge, I hope that I have the stamina to complete it.

I will be going through the Curry forenames in my surname study database from A-Z and,  as per the event schedule, will share some of the articles I have found on Trove relating to Currys. For problem letters like X and Q I may  resort to Google.

This letter is not as problematic as I had envisaged. Although I have a Quentin and a Qi-Li in my database for this post I chose Lillian Curry who married a chap with the surname Quinn.

Lillian was a girl of many talents. I’m fairly sure the Currys mentioned in this first snippet are Lillian and her brother Frank Gilbert Curry.

During World war 1 Lillian shared letters from her brother with the local newspaper.

Several short articles from the Jerilderie newspaper tell us that Lillian was a returned regularly to the town after she left. The following was useful as it gave me a name fro Lillian’s daughter.

The most recent article I found for Lillian reported her passing.

It continues to amaze me as to how much genealogical information one can glean from Trove. The articles provide clues that I can confirm through further research.
