ROCKHAMPTON, Monday.— A post-mortem examination at Rockhampton to-day disclosed that Ferris Curry, 31, married, grazier, who collapsed and died in a Queensland Airlines plane on Sunday afternoon, had died from natural causes. Police said no inquest would be held.

All these Currys are of great interest when my name is also Curry, even if by marriage. I love the descriptions of wedding dresses and going away outfits. Travelling by goods train for a honeymoon in Brisbane – how practical is that! Then six years later he dies in a plane.

After reading your post my first query is – who has the memorial plate? I have read about in Paperspast of the Kitto shield donated by an ancestor and wondered where it is now. Rubbish, tarnished or in a cabinet all shiny.

“…the cake made and iced by the bride’s mother” I wanted a chocolate cake for my wedding as I hate fruit cake. But my Mom said that my great aunt Stella had the old family recipe for wedding cake (fruit) and wanted to make it as her contribution, then they had it iced at the bakery. I relented because I loved my great aunt, and Dad promised to get me some mini pastries from the Queen E Hotel (award winning and to die for!).
So sad they weren’t married very long.

Just love the Longreach Leader…I got lots of great McSherry stories from them too. I love how some country papers give us so much detail about weddings…such treasures!
